Yep, two years may seem like a very long time, but the only reason it took me 2 years was that at that time I was an interior architecture student, and when you are a design student, time is something you always run out of. I was also someone who always worked better under pressure and therefore waited until the last minute to come up with good concepts and designs which left me very little time to focus on my idea of starting the Abaya line. However, during that period, I went Dubai a few times to study the market, hand picked a few Abaya's and did research on materials. It took me some time to understand textiles and I am unquestionably still learning.

After I had a collection of handpicked designs, I made an Instagram profile and started to share them online. I remember I only had around 16 Abaya's then. At that time on Instagram, I was not able to find many companies that had a good content illustrating their designs. So I made sure my pictures had some character and styling inspiration for my viewers.

I managed to get a few followers in, with some help from a good friend who is quite active on Instagram and had a growing platform her self. With all of this put together, all 16 of the Abaya’s were sold in a month’s time. This gave me the confidence to start the line and invest in more Abayas.

However, even after testing the market and receiving positive results, I was still hesitant to start due to family and Marriage, and I will tell you guys why in my next post.

Hello, what are the bust, waist, and hip measurements of your Abayas in size 54 and 56? Thanks!
